Lowell Ponte asserts in his Dec. 7 Newsmax column that "a majority of citizens in his home state and elsewhere rejected Al Gore's bid to become president" in 2000.
In fact, while Gore did lose Tennessee, he won the popular vote over George W. Bush by more than 500,000 votes.
